Cookie policy
A short, specific account of what we store on your device and why.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. Related technologies — local storage, session storage — do a similar job and are covered by this policy too. They let a site remember things between page loads: that you are signed in, that you already dismissed a notice, or how many people visited a page.
Our approach
We set as few as we can get away with. Strictly necessary cookies are set because the site cannot function securely without them. Everything else is optional, off by default, and set only after you choose to accept.
No advertising cookies. We do not run advertising, we do not set third-party marketing or retargeting cookies, and we do not sell or share data for cross-site advertising. ExactHue is a business-to-business engine; there is nothing here to retarget you with.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are set without consent because the service cannot be provided without them. They carry no advertising value.

Optional analytics cookies
Set only if you selected “Accept all”. They tell us which pages are actually useful so we can spend effort in the right place.

Analytics data is aggregated, IP addresses are truncated before storage, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it.
Third-party content
This site loads web fonts from Google Fonts. That request reveals your IP address and user agent to Google as a technical necessity of serving the file, but it does not set a cookie on this site. If you would prefer to avoid it entirely, blocking fonts.googleapis.com leaves the site fully functional — it simply falls back to fonts already on your device.
We do not embed social widgets, advertising pixels, session-replay tools or third-party chat.
Cookies and ExactHue Core
The embeddable shade-finder widget deployed on a brand's storefront does not set advertising or tracking cookies. It may use session storage to hold a capture in memory for the duration of the interaction. Cookies set by the brand's own storefront are governed by that brand's cookie policy, not this one.
Changing your choice
- On this site — clear exacthue.cookie-consent from your browser's site data for exacthue.com. The notice will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently.
- In your browser — every major browser lets you block or delete cookies per site, usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent sign-in from working.
- Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control — we honour a GPC signal as a refusal of optional analytics cookies.
If you have JavaScript disabled
The cookie notice can still be dismissed — it is built with a plain HTML control rather than a script. Without JavaScript we cannot store your choice, so the notice will reappear on your next visit. No optional cookies are set in that case, because setting them requires the choice we could not record.
This is consistent with how the whole site is built: every page here is static HTML that renders completely without JavaScript.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove a cookie, this page is updated and the version above changes. Material changes to optional cookies will re-prompt you for consent rather than assuming the old answer still applies.
